Rum Cooler


1 teaspoon sugar syrup or to taste (recipe to follow)

Juice of 1 lemon

2 ounces dark rum

Club soda

Lemon slices for garnish


Pour ingredients into an 8 or 10 ounce glasses filled with ice. Top with club soda and stir. Garnish with lemon slices.


Sugar syrup:

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup water


Boil together to make a thick syrup. When cool, store in a tightly covered glass container and refrigerate. Substitute sugar syrup in equal amounts for sugar in beverage recipes.
